Romance, heartache, defiance, and a quest to finding oneself are all intertwined in this 2005 European film starring: Keira Knightly, Matthew Macfadyen, Judi Dench, Brenda Blethen, and Donald Sutherland all star in this Film adaption based on the Book Pride and Prejudice by famous English author Jane Austen. The Movie Centers around the Bennett a family in the early 1800’s London, England. The main character Elizabeth Bennett (Portrayed by Keira Knightly), her mother (Brenda Blethen), father (Donald Sutherland), and 5 sisters. Thoughout the course of story, the mother, Mrs. Bennett has a yearning for all her 5 daughters to get married before Mr. Bennett reaches the point of his last days. I think that Brenda Blethen displayed a fantastic job as being the needy mother who wants her kids to be happy, and ulitimatly driving her complete insane, not literally. Elizabeth, the main character meets a man named Mr. Darcy, and when they first meet (knightly) trys to have a bubbly an upbeat conversation to get to know him, however Mr. Darcy isn’t too lenient on her and rather rejects finding her unattractive in everyway whatsoever, as Elizabeth overhears this she immediately finds a loathe towards him. Keira Knighlty had to play a go with the flow, secretively angstful character towards Mr. Darcy and in a way plays hard to get. And due to her performance, she displayed a beautiful job creating a very modest “Femme Fatal”. However, I noticed that another side of her had to be the brutally harsh character tow whom she knows who she is and what she wants and at the same-time self-seekful young woman, who derives to know if there really is true love out there for her after all. Matthew Macfayden (Mr. Darcy) may have not been exposed a whole lot as I thought he would throughout the film, the times he has been he acted in many different ways, he will act like a gentlemen, but he will be blunt about how he feels in a cold, soft way, and I could honestly feel the cold-like atmosphere him and Knightly inflicted on one other’s roles. Also the story doesn’t just primarily focus on Elizabeth but, nevertheless shows the youngest sister, Lydia (Jenna Malone) an upbeat, fun-loving, eccentric sister who later marries a crush of Elizabeth’s and presents a very naïve and immature, however I notice that she is confident into thinking that she is more mature than her other sisters. The sister Kitty, second to the youngest, plays another naïve immature young lady who is closest with Lydia, and becomes jealous towards her because she herself can not find love. The middle sister Mary, incredibly reserved, and very homely than the other sister and rolls with her own beat, and I thought that the actress may have been too reserved when I suddenly notice that she had a thing for Mr. Collins later in the movie, I thought I saw a pattern with all the sisters and their love, I thought I lost hope when marry didn’t want anyone or couldn’t find anyone she liked, but I was completely fooled when I saw that. And the last sister Jane, I saw her as the real eye-candy in the film, but something held her back which was her sweet and kind shy-like personality, and she found love, and because she was being that everyone knew her to be, her love interest loved her so much that in the in end the love ended up really finding her. The movie was incredible and the music for it fit it nicely, and the dream sequences were very symbolic in Elizabeth’s dream. The only thing I didn’t like about the movie was the rush of the scenes, if the director extended 2 or 3 of the scenes then everyone would probably get a better understanding.

I absolutely love this movie! I have always been a fan of the novel and I felt that it was an honest adaptation of the book. I'm glad you mentioned the music because ever since I saw the film it has been one of my favorite movie scores. Keira Knightly is perfect as Elizabeth in this film and Matthew Macfadyen certainly grew on me as the story progressed. I'm glad you chose to review this movie and I agree with your overall score. I don't normally watch romantic movies but I find myself never tiring of this one. :)
